Faculty Senate Motions 2007-2008

Motion 1: Health and Human Performance.

Motion 2: Plant and Earth Sciences- creation of a new code.

Motion 4: Approve Ad Hoc Committee to address tenure decision.

Motion 8: To alter the charge of the Disabilities Advisory Committee.

Motion 9: To fill vacancies in two sub committees (APPC & ASC).

Motion 10: Petition for an Equitable, Reasonable and Affordable Quality Health Care Plan for all Faculty and Staff at UWRF.

Motion 11: A letter was drafted and will be sent to Governor Jim Doyle concerning the current health care crisis.

Motion 12: Appointment of Dean Culpepper to replace Larry Harred (2008-09) on Academic Policies and Programs Committee.

 

Motion 13: a) to remove item d. from the Committee Functions, Handbook Ch. 3, Section K.2. b) to change the non-voting membership of the committee, as described in the Handbook, Ch. 3, Section K.1. c) Text changes.

Motion 14: Proposed Resolution on Equity and Affirmative Action.

Motion 15: Appointment of Laura Zlogar and Jeffrey Rosenthal to a subcommittee (for testing and tutoring) of the Differential Tuition Committee.

Motion 16: The following faculty representatives from each college have been appointed to a Budget "Request for Funding" Review Committee for new integrated planning project/funding requests.

Motion 19: Conversion of Incomplete's Prior to 2002-2003.

Motion 20: To transfer responsibility for approval and assessment of American Cultural Diversity and Global Perspectives courses from the Academic Policy and Programs Committee to the General Education Committee, and to change the name of the General Education Committee to General Education and University Requirements Committee.

Motion 21: A proposal from the Academic Standards Committee to revise the Suspension & Probation Policy as defined in 8.2.19.

Motion 22: Proposal from the Faculty Compensation Committee to distribute the 2% salary increase across the board.

Motion 23: Proposal from the Executive Committee that all UWRF faculty members of the University of Wisconsin System committees must be appointed by appointed by the Faculty Senate.

Motion 34: Motion from the Executive Committee to appoint Michael Kahlow and Glenn Spiczak to serve on an administrative task force (VSA Taskforce) responsible for shaping the college/university portrait.

Motion 35: A motion was made by the Executive Committee to replace Mary Halada with Kelly Cain as chair of the Sustainability Task Force, with Mary Halada remaining on the task force.

Motion 36: A motion from AP&P to approve an Early Child Comprehensive major was approved.

Motion 37: A resolution of support for the Wisconsin State Senate Bill 353 was approved.

Motion 38: A motion from Academic Standards to approve a policy "Defining Full-Time Status for Students participating in Internships."

Motion 39: Appointment of Mary Wright to replace Judy Rabak-Wegener (COEPS) on the Sustainability Task Force.

Motion 40: A motion from the Executive Committee to adopt the 2008 edited version of Chapter Two of the Faculty Staff Handbook.

Motion 67: A motion from the Faculty Compensation Committee for UWRF Faculty Salary Adjustment and Salary Preservation.

Motion 68: A motion from Faculty Welfare on Faculty Load and Lecture Lab equivalency: different models exist between universities within the UW System which allow greater flexibility when defining load.

Motion 69: A motion from the Assessment Committee to approve the attached General Education Program and University Requirements Assessment Plan and Review Process.

Motion 70: A motion from Academic Standards concerning grade requirements for all Health and Human Performance Majors in Option II.

Motion 71: A motion from the Executive Committee: The Chair of Academic Policies and Programs Committee shall be given .25 release time for the fall and spring semesters that he/she serves in that capacity for the 08-09 Academic year.

Motion 72: A motion from the Executive Committee: The Chair of the University Curriculum Committee shall be given .25 release time for the fall and spring semesters that he/she serves in that capacity for the 08-09 Academic year.

Motion 73: NOT APPROVED: A motion from the Executive Committee: The Faculty Senate shall be given a .25 release (3 credits) each semester to give to a chair of a Faculty Senate Committee that has a heavy load during the semester that the release is given. The committee receiving the release shall be determined jointly by the Executive Committee of the Faculty Senate and Senior Leadership for the 08-09 Academic year.

Motion 74: A motion from the Executive Committee: Faculty members on a 9 month contract serving the Search and Screen Committee for the new Chancellor during the summer of 2008 will be given a stipend of $1,000.

Motion 75: A motion from the Executive Committee: Brad Mogen shall be the chair of the Information and Instructional Technology Council (ITC) for the 2008-09 academic year.

Motion 76: A motion from the Executive Committee to submit the followinig list of twenty names of faculty to President Reilly of the UWS for the Chancellor Search and Screen Committee.

Motion 77: A motion from the Academic Staff Council to submit the following list of four names of academic staff members to President Reilly of the UWS for the Chancellor Search and Screen Committee.
