To kick off the musical events, the Holiday Choral Concert is set for Dec. 5 at 3 p.m. The UWRF Concert Choir, directed by Associate Professor J.W. Park, UWRF Women’s Choir, directed by Assistant Professor Lesa Jacobsen, and UWRF Men’s Choir, directed by Associate Lecturer Peter Benson all will perform during this concert. Admission is $5/adults, $3/seniors and $2/students. The Winter Band Concert takes place Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Kristin Tjornehoj, associate professor, will be directing the UWRF Symphony Band and Gary Bird, associate lecturer, will be directing the UWRF University Band. Admission is $5/adults, $3/seniors and $2/students. Tjornehoj will also be directing the St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra for their Holiday Orchestra Concert on Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5/adults, $3/seniors and $2/students. On Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m., the Christmas Brass will be performing at Luther Memorial Church under the direction of Rick Gaynor, lecturer. Admission to this event is free. All concerts, with the exception of the Christmas Brass, are performed at the William Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building on campus, and are open to the public with tickets available at the door. UWRF will also be offering open skating at Hunt Arena during the holiday season. Open skate is available Sunday afternoons from 1-2:30 p.m. and is free for all UWRF students, $2/faculty and staff and $4/public. Skating is also available on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from noon-1 p.m. and a Tuesday Late Night Skate from 9:30-10:30 p.m. are both offered weekly at no cost to UWRF students, $1.50/staff and faculty and $3/public. The arena will be open extended hours during the holiday season, and open skating will be offered from noon-1:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 and 26, and Dec. 27-31. The costs during these hours are free for all UWRF students, $2/faculty and staff and $4/public. Bring skates or rent a pair for $2 for students, faculty, and staff or $2.50 for community members, and enjoy the holidays at UWRF.
