Conference to Provide Nature Education for Early Childhood and Elementary Educators
Sept. 17, 2010--Faculty from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College and River Falls Public Schools are collaborating to put on an experiential nature conference for early childhood and early elementary educators. The Time for Nature conference will be held at UWRF’s University Center on Sept. 25 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The conference features Ruth Forsgen, a naturalist and educator at Beaver Creek Reserve, a nature center and youth camp southeast of Eau Claire.
Participants will go on a nature exploration walk and have the opportunity to create teaching materials and gather outdoor classroom ideas. Sessions will integrate math, science, movement and literature as conference participants create and investigate items inspired by nature.
The conference is open to educators and parents. To R.S.V.P. or for more information, contact Linda Onan, early childhood learning services coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 715-425-3562.
