Two Receive Board of Regents Awards

May 12, 2010--A University of Wisconsin-River Falls staff member and an academic program were recently honored with prestigious UW System Board of Regents awards.

Campus Planner Dale Braun has been selected to receive one of two 2010 Regents Academic Staff Excellence Awards. The UWRF McNair Scholars program, under the leadership of the program’s Assistant Director Njia Lawrence-Porter, has been selected to receive the only 2010 Regents Academic Staff Excellence Program Award.

Braun and Lawrence-Porter will officially be presented with the awards at the UW System Board of Regents meeting in Milwaukee on June 11.

In congratulatory letters to the recipients, Charles Pruitt, president of the UW System Board of Regents, and John Drew, chair of the Regent Committee for Academic Staff Excellence Awards, note that “this award signifies the high regard with which you are held by your colleagues, your institution, the UW System, and the Board of Regents. We applaud your professional, impressive accomplishments, and outstanding devotion to the quality of education in the University of Wisconsin System.”

Braun will receive $5,000 to be used to support his professional development or other activities of his choice that will enhance a university program or function. The McNair Scholars program’s $5,000 award may be used to support activities that will enhance the university program or function.
