UWRF Dance Theatre Spring Concert set for March 24-27dancers

March 5, 2010-- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Dance Theatre Spring Concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, March 24-27 in the Davis Theater of the Kleinpell Fine Arts building.

Guest choreographers and dance theatre alumni, Ric Suarez, Rana Kuebker, and Ruby Lanoux have created pieces that range from modern to jazz and UWRF staff member, Torrion Amie, has choreographed a hip hop dance.

“The performances the students produce every year are amazing,” says Mari Kline-Kluck, a UWRF dance faculty member, has been a part of the UWRF dance program for years, starting as a student and dance theatre member.

Dance Theatre has secured the choreographic talents of three professional guest artists from the Twin Cities this year. Student choreographers who have contributed dances to this year’s performance are Greta Nelson of Milltown, Allison Davitt of St. Paul, Brooke Gusa of S. St. Paul, and Ben Tufte of Plymouth, Minn.

Cost is $7/adults, $5/students and seniors. Tickets will be available from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. beginning Monday through Friday March 8-12 and 22-26, at the ticket office in Kleinpell Fine Arts.
