CAS Offers Financial Help for International TravelFeb. 19, 2010-- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls College of Arts and Sciences offers stipends to support students participating in UWRF-sponsored or approved international study abroad programs. To help the traveling students, each stipend can be up to $1,000. These stipends are available thanks to generous donations made by alumni and friends of UWRF. Eligibility of the stipends depends upon certain qualifications that include: one full semester as a current, declared major in the College of Arts and Sciences, completion of 45 credits by the time of application, participation in a UWRF sponsored study abroad program, minimum GPA of 2.75, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty advisor or a faculty member familiar with the student’s academic plan and work as a student. This semester, 16 students were granted a stipend. These students are: Laurel Corbett, a junior broad field studies major from Park Falls, traveling to Costa Rica.
