Lydecker Lecture focuses on Women Leaders

SEPT. 28, 2009 | Women-in-business consultant Teresa Daly will be the featured speaker at the second annual Ann Lydecker Women and Leadership Lecture Series, set for Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kinnickinnic Theater in the University Center at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The event is free and open to the public.

Daly’s presentation, “Women in Leadership: What Are We Missing?” will explore issues related to women in all aspects of leadership including communities, public office, businesses and organizations. A board member of WomenWinning and a former U.S. congressional candidate, Daly has 20 years’ experience in executive leadership and consulting. She has been an instructor and speaker at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and is a former president of the Association of Career Professionals.

Her presentation is co-sponsored by the new Women’s Leadership and Philanthropy Initiative of the UWRF Foundation. The initiative’s mission is to “promote networking among women, assist women to better understand financial goals, empower women to become active philanthropic leaders, and financially support and enhance the quality of a UWRF educational experience for women.”

The lecture series was created in the memory of the late UWRF Chancellor Ann Lydecker and features a speaker each year on the issues facing women leaders in many contexts, both in academia and beyond. The series is made possible by Bill Lydecker, Ann's husband, through the Ann Lydecker Lecture Series Fund of the UWRF Foundation.

A fruit and dessert buffet will follow the lecture. For more information on the initiative or this year’s lecture series, contact Jill Greenhalgh at the UWRF Foundation at 877-258-6647, 715-425-3505, or email jill.greenhalgh@uwrf.edu.
