Presentation Focuses on Area’s Geology
AUG. 18, 2009 | University of Wisconsin-River Falls geology Professor William Cordua will be giving a free, public presentation on "The Geology of the River Falls Area," at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the River Falls Public Library at 140 Union St., River Falls.
Following the talk, Cordua will be available to help identify geological specimens brought in by the public. Attendees are asked to bring no more than three samples per person.
On exhibit in the library’s lower level area is an 11-case display of rocks, minerals and fossils from the UWRF geology collections. The display runs through Friday, Sept. 4. The collection contains beautiful minerals from around the world, but also focuses on Wisconsin minerals and the geology of the Pierce-St. Croix County area.
