Staff Honored for Years of Service, Retirement

JUNE 5, 2009 | Faculty and staff at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls were recognized for their years of service to the state of Wisconsin at the All-Campus Service and Retirement Reception in May.

Those faculty and staff retiring during 2008-09 included: Sheryl Britt, Carolyn Britton, Robert Butler of River Falls, Colleen Callahan of Hudson, Steven Carlson of River Falls, Sharon Durbin, Nancy Gehrig of River Falls, Sandra Haines, Mary Halada of River Falls, George Hansen of River Falls, Pat Hanson of Stillwater, Gorden Hedahl of River Falls, Allan Hoggheem, Joyce Kapszukiewicz, Mark Kinders of Tahlequah, Okla., Sharon Larson of River Falls, Michael Padgett of St. Paul, Helen Turner of River Falls, Thomas Weiss of River Falls, and Ruth Wood of River Falls.

The most senior-serving member of the faculty, Nicholas Karolides of River Falls, English Department, was recognized for 45 years of service (pictured, right, with Interim Chancellor Connie Foster).

Those recognized for 35 years of service include: Terry Halvorson of River Falls, accounting/accounts payable, George Hansen of River Falls, admissions, Virgil Monroe of River Falls, textbook services, and Jerry Nelson of River Falls, information technology services.

Serving 30 years include: Mary Lou Bean of River Falls, social work, Thomas Ducklow of River Falls, facilities management, Virginia Duff of River Falls, university advancement, Gregory Elliott of River Falls, facilities management, Terry Ferriss, plant & earth science, Flossie Hughes, Wisconsin in Scotland program, Jerome Nechville of River Falls, agricultural engineering technology, Roberta Obermueller of River Falls, College of Education and Professional Studies, Lynette Pfremmer of River Falls, admissions, Brian Schultz of River Falls, College of Business & Economics, and Linda Stary of Hudson, facilities management.
