Student Juried Exhibition Runs Through May 7

April 27, 2009 -The annual Juried Student Art Exhibition is on display at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in Gallery 101 of the Kleinpell Fine Arts building through May 7.

Guest juror is Tamara Brantmeier, a UWRF alumna and an assistant professor of painting and drawing at the UW-Stout.

Brantmeier graduated from UWRF in 1992 with a B.F.A. in painting. In mid April she selected the works to be included in the show and then gave a presentation on her choices as well as selected student works to received awards.

"It was overwhelming at first, when I saw the amount of work submitted," she said. "That immediately impressed me--the fact that so many students submitted

so many pieces of work--and I had to walk around the space a few times and simply absorb everything that was there."

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. on Monday through Friday as well as 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday. For more information call the UWRF art department at 715-425-3266.
