Exhibit Showcases Student Work

MARCH 13, 2009 | The University of Wisconsin – River Falls art department is hosting a senior art exhibition, March 25 through April 1. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

Rachael Anderson, a double-major in fine arts and art education from Wayzata, Minn., will be presenting “Yoni: n. Sacred Gateway, Source of Life, Divine Passage, Place of Rest.”

“The pieces in my show are homage to the natural female process of menstruation as well as the secret lives of women and their strong connection with one another,” said Anderson. “My sculptures are books housing these stories.”

It is quite rare that one student gets the full gallery to him- or herself as most senior exhibitions consist of a three-dimensional artist paired with a two-dimensional artist, said Anderson.

This event will be held in the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building in Gallery 101. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Monday through Friday as well as 2 – 4 p.m. on Sunday.
