International Brown Bag & Video Series
NOV. 3, 2008--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Association for International Development will sponsor a brown bag and video series. Events are free and open to the public and include:
Nancy Parlin, retired UWRF vice chancellor for academic affairs and emeritus professor of sociology, will present, "Peace Organizations in Israel and Pakistan" in the brownbag lunch series on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 12:20 p.m. in Global Connections office, Room 102 Hagestad Hall. Participants can bring a bag lunch; dessert will be served.
The film, "Black Gold," will be shown during International Education Week (Nov. 17-21) on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Kinnickinnic Theatre of the University Center. A discussion will be led by UWRF agricultural economics Professor Gregg Hadley and Tammy Walhof, senior regional organizer for the organization, Bread for the World. "Black Gold" focuses on fair trade coffee produced in Ethiopia.
