Synergy 2008 to be Held at UWRF
NOV. 3, 2008--The regional Synergy conference, to be held Nov. 12-13 at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, explores the topic of the "Innovative Economy."
Conference attendees will hear remarks from Wisconsin Secretary of Commerce, Richard J. Leinenkugel, plus featured keynote experts who will address topics pertinent to the region's stakeholders.
Questions discussed at this year's conference include: How will energy shape how we live, work and play? How does the global market affect growth and opportunities for small business? How can we build, attract and maintain the talented workforce of the future?
Trained discussion facilitators Bruce Siebold of Rusk Prairie Consulting and Juliet Fox of UW-Stout will lead discussions in an effort to draw out and develop a list of issues pertinent to the region from the attendees. The second day will focus on the development of an action plan to engage team members and attendees into mobilized action.
In its sixth year, the Synergy conference is a mechanism for supporting sustainable economic development for the 10-county region of west central Wisconsin. Key stakeholders from business/industry, economic and workforce development, education and government will provide a multi-faceted approach to quality-of-life and economic growth solutions for the region.
The location of the Synergy conference rotates from year to year. This year's host is the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and will take place in its new University Center. Synergy is an offering of the West Central Wisconsin Regional Education Consortium and Workforce Resource, and more than 15 exhibiting companies are providing various levels of sponsorship and financial support for the event.
