OCT. 24, 2008--Wisconsin Public Radio's Joy Cardin will broadcast her statewide issues call-in show live from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 6-9 a.m. on Oct. 31. Cardin will be joined by local guests and will broadcast in front of a live audience in the Falls Room at the University Center. The River Falls stop is the seventh and last leg of the statewide "Joy Ride" tour, which spotlights the issues and politics specific to each community. Cardin's program is heard on the 18-station Ideas Network of Wisconsin Public Radio, including western Wisconsin stations 88.7 WRFW/River Falls and 88.3 WHWC/Menomonie-Eau Claire. In her 6 a.m. hour, Cardin will celebrate Halloween with Mike Norman, UW-River Falls emeritus professor of journalism and author of "Haunted Wisconsin" and other spooky books. Politics and the issues of western Wisconsin will be the topic in the 7 a.m. hour with guest Wes Chapin, a UW-River Falls professor of political science. The "Week in Review" hour at 8 a.m. will include analysis from Brian Huffman, professor of business and economics and Neil Kraus, assistant professor of political science, both from UW-River Falls. -30- Last updated:
