J-Term Trip To Egypt Info Meeting Set
SEPT. 12, 2008--University of Wisconsin-River Falls students and faculty and community members can join Steven Derfler, a UWRF art professor, historian, and archaeologist, as he leads a trip to Egypt during January-Term 2009 from Jan. 6 - 18, 2009. An informational meeting is Sept. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. in Room B107, Kleinpell Fine Arts building.
On the trip, participants visit Cairo, Memphis, Giza, Luxor, Aswan, and other areas close by. Also included is a cruise down the Nile River and an air excursion to Abu Simbel. Participants will explore landmarks including pyramids, tombs, temples, Sphinx, Aswan High Dam, City of the Dead, Valley of the Kings, and the Citadel. Participants will also travel in a private touring coach for sightseeing excursions escorted by an Egyptologist.
The cost of the trip is approximately $4,200 (students will have additional international program fees and tuition costs). The price includes airfare, airport departure taxes, transfers, visas, hotel, taxes, tips and at hotels and airports. Accommodations include five-star hotels and a Nile cruise ship. Participants receive breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Comprehensive travel insurance is also included. All entrance fees and domestic air and ground transportation within Egypt.
