Real Estate Expert is Business Speaker
APRIL 25, 2008--Steve Mooney, a professor of real estate and holder of the Minnesota chair in real estate at St. Cloud State University, will speak about the subprime mortgage crisis in the United States at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls College of Business and Economics Third Thursday luncheon on May 15 at the Holiday Inn St. Paul East.
Mooney will present "The Subprime Mortgage Crisis and the Impact on Home Values" at noon, preceded by a networking event at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $17 and alumni and interested professionals are encouraged to attend.
A UWRF alumnus, Mooney holds a B.S. from UWRF in secondary education/geography and an M.S. in real estate from Southern Methodist University. He holds a Ph.D. in finance with a real estate emphasis from Texas A&M University. He has taught at Texas A&M University, University of Minnesota at Rochester, Inver Hills Community College, Normandale Community College and Winona State University. He has held visiting research/scholar positions at the University of Ulster, Ireland, and at the University of Western Sydney, Australia.
Mooney has given numerous presentations and seminars across the world for businesses, industry groups and academia and has published his research in dozens of journals including Marketing Management Journal, Appraisal Journal, Land Economics Review, Journal of Real Estate, International Journal of Real Estate and others. He has served on the boards of Minnesota Real Estate Foundation and AgStar Farm Credit Services.
