Enrollment Now Open for Discover U Summer Classes
MARCH 28, 2008--Registration is now open for Discover U, a summer program at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, which is open to all students entering grades 4 through 9.
Discover U provides summer educational opportunities to explore fun and fascinating topics in a university environment, taught by university faculty and other specially selected teachers.
The program dates are July 7-11 and July 14-18, with classes meeting from 9 a.m., to noon each day. The program offers a variety of classes that separates groups of students between grades 4 - 6, and grades 7 - 9.
Discover U is dedicated to ignite the imagination of students, expand perspectives and provide a fun, hands-on environment for learning. Each year, new classes are introduced into the program. This year the new classes include digital photography, rocketry, river stewardship, online web design and a mock emergency room. Each class spans a full week of learning, with the exception of the online design class, which is a two-week course.
Tuition for each class is $125 and covers all materials and supplies. The fee for the two-week online design class is $249. Registration can be done online, through the mail, in person or by fax. Full payment must accompany registration and can be made by credit card or by check payable to the UW-River Falls.
Course descriptions, program information, online registration and a printable catalog are all available on the website at www.uwrf.edu/discoveru .
