FEB. 15, 2008--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls University Theatre presents "The Good Person of Setzuan," Feb. 28-29 and March 1, 7-8, with performances at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 9. Performances take place in the Davis Theatre of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building on campus.

"The Good Person of Setzuan," originally written by Bertolt Brecht and revised by Tony Kuschner, tells the story of a young woman who is ultimately good, but is forced to become someone she is not, to deal with the harsh world around her in the slums of Setzuan.   It's a story of love, powerful Gods, and what is right versus what will help you survive.

Guest director Zach Curtis leads the production. "What Brecht wanted to bring to the stage was a form of alienation that closed off the audience, yet the actors use the audience and speak directly to them," he says.
