Saxophone Sounds Rock Wyman Series
By Lisa Stratton
NOV. 30, 2007--The Ancia Saxophone Quartet is ready to deliver the sweet sounds of four harmoniously-blended saxophones at their Wyman Series concert on Dec. 9. The group will be playing at 3 p.m. in Abbott Concert Hall of Kleinpell Fine Arts building.
The Minnesota-based ensemble features four players: Angela Wyatt, Matthew Sintchak, Joan Hutton, and UWRF music professor David Milne. Created in 1990, the group plays both traditional and new musical pieces, and can often be heard on Minnesota Public Radio. The quartet has traveled the world together, giving concerts in the United States, Canada, and Europe, even performing with the Berlin Saxophone Quartet in 1993, 1995, and 1997.
Tickets, available at the door, are free for UWRF students with campus I.D. The event is open to the public with admission of $5 for adults, and $3 for children aged 18 and under. Children aged 5 and under are admitted free of charge.
This event is part of UWRF's Wyman Series, which is sponsored by its Student Entertainment and Arts Committee and the Diversity Awareness Committee. For more information, please contact Karyn Kling, associate student services coordinator, at 715-425-4444.
