Dealing With Difficult People Workshop
By Erin Orgeman
OCT. 22, 2007--The UW- River Falls Outreach office in partnership with the River Falls Chamber of Commerce and Chippewa Valley Technical College are teaming up to provide a new workshop in their Lunch and Learn series.
The next Lunch and Learn workshop, "Dealing With Difficult People." This is Nov. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in room 129 of the RDI building on the UWRF campus. The cost for this workshop is $25 and lunch is included.
Dave Vollmer, a trainer with the Center for Performance Excellence, will present the workshop. Vollmer has experience in various industries including quality and leadership with large and small companies alike, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Marshfield Clinic, and Phillips Plastic.
Roseanne Bump, chief executive officer of the River Falls Chamber of Commerce says the presentation can be beneficial to almost anyone. "Regardless of what position you are in an organization there are always going to be people that are angry, upset, selfish, distracted or other behaviors," says Bump. "In the business world we need to handle those encounters professionally and in a timely manner."
Lunch and Learn is a new program that began last spring to help create a link between community organizations and the UWRF campus, according to organizers. The UW-River Falls Outreach and Graduate Studies Office provides lifelong learners with academic, professional development and enrichment programs that are practical, flexible, convenient and affordable. A complete list of courses, course descriptions and online registration information for these noncredit language classes is available at http:/www.uwrf.edu/ogs or can be obtained by calling at 715-425-3256, 1-800-228-5607 or e-mailing email@example.com .
