Career Fair is Oct. 17
OCT. 8, 2007--The UW-River Falls annual Career Fair is Oct. 17 in the Riverview Ballroom of the University Center. Organized by the UWRF Career Services Office, the fair provides an opportunity for students and employers to meet one-on-one regarding position vacancies, opportunities, and internships. This year's theme is "Discover Your Future in a World of Opportunities."
Representatives from organizations and graduate schools from the Midwest come to UWRF to network with students and answer questions about their organization or school and opportunities they may have available.
Some 101 employers and four graduate schools will be in attendance. The fair is open to all students and alumni as the Career Fair has something to offer everyone and is a great way for students to discover their future and find opportunities in their field of study.
Career Fair Guides and cards are available in the Career Services office located at 24 East Hathorn Hall. The Career Fair card is just a reminder of the Career Fair, when the informational sessions are, and what to bring.
Career Fair coordinator Cassie Staubus, an art major from East Bethel, Minn., recommends that students come well prepared for the opportunities presented. She suggests that students make an appointment at Career Services for résumé help as well as attend one of the two informational sessions before attending the event. Career Fair 101 informational sessions will be held on Monday, Oct. 15 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 16 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Kinnickinnic River Theater, room 320 in the University Center.
Career Fair student volunteers are still needed for an hour or two shift from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. to help with set up or 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. to help with take-down. All volunteers will receive a meal ticket for their time.
