CBE Celebration Week Held During Homecoming
OCT. 8, 2007--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls College of Business and Economics will celebrate Homecoming Week with a series of events Oct. 8 - 12 including a panel, lecture, alumni speakers and open house as well as participation in the annual all-campus Career Fair on Oct. 17.
Students and staff will participate in an International Studies Opportunities Panel on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at noon in the Alumni Room of South Hall. In addition to a discussion about global business, opportunities for global educational connections for student and faculty will be highlighted. Pizza will be served.
The Executive in Residence lecture will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 in the Riverview Ballroom of the University Center. This year's visiting executive is Robert Cervenka, CEO of Phillips Plastics, who will present on "The Creation and Sustaining of a High Performance Culture."
Alumni and other speakers will address business classes during the week. Ellen Schultz, an advisor in CBE, will be speaking to all of the college's 300 level courses about internship opportunities. A schedule of classes, times, dates and alumni speakers will be posted outside of Room 124, South Hall.
CBE will end its week of celebration with a open house from 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13 th in the Alumni Room of South Hall. Alumni who are attending the Homecoming Weekend celebration will be available at the tour and for networking opportunities.
CBE is encouraging all students to attend the annual Career Fair, Oct. 17 in the Riverview Ballroom of the University Center from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This year's theme is "Discover Your Future in a World of Opportunities."
