Alumni Weekend To Be Held During River Falls Days
JUNE 29, 2007--Alumni and friends of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will have an opportunity to reminisce about their time spent both on campus and in the community as this years' celebration, July 13 -14, has been specifically planned to coincide with River Falls Days, July 12-15.
"It is our hope that by combining Alumni Weekend with the River Falls Days celebration our alumni will have a greater opportunity to participate in a wide array of activities," says Dan McGinty, director of development and alumni relations at UWRF.
Special recognition will be given to the classes of 1957 and 1967, who mark their 40 th and 50 th reunions this year.
Events begin with registration and reception in the Hagestad Hall Mall Area (formerly Student Center Mall) at 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, followed by a barbeque at 5:15 p.m. and the River Falls Days parade at 6:30 p.m.
On Saturday, July 14 the annual alma mater remembrance gets going at 8:30 a.m. with registration and continental breakfast in the new University Center followed by reunions for the classes of 1957 and 1967. At 10:30 a.m. various spotlight seminars and guest speakers will highlight campus activities and endeavors. At 12:30 p.m. alumni will lunch in the University Center with Chancellor Don Betz to hear a "University Update" presentation. Campus tours follow at 2 p.m.

Other campus and community activities that weekend celebrate summer. River Falls Days events include an ambassador coronation, art show, car show, demolition derby, truck pull, sports tournaments, farmer's market, flower show, foot races, community-wide garage sale, live music and entertainment, charitable bingo, children's activities and more. Druing Alumni Weekend and River Falls Days, the St. Croix Valley Summer Theatre presents the musical comedy "Radio Gals" on July 14 at 7:30 p.m. with a 1:30 matinee at on July 15.
