Art Student Senior Show
MARCH 12, 2007--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Gallery 101 in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building will feature the works of graduating art students Jessie Willyerd of Janesville, Wis.; Brad LaBadie of Burlington, Wis.; and Kelly Malcore of Green Bay, Wis., March 21 - 28.
Willyerd works in acrylic paint and pastel. Her theme is equines that are portrayed realistically in different lights and colors. LaBadie works with hot glass to create both functional and sculptural objects. He shapes the molten glass into organic forms that make reference of the outside world such as new plant growth, rocks, and bones. Malcore creates woodcuts and etchings depicting animals in intimate natural moments that invite the viewer into their personal lives. The simple elegance of her work displays alluring warmth missing from the urban world.
The exhibit hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 2-4 p.m. Sunday. For more information contact the UWRF art department at 715-425-3266.
