By Amie Eller
JULY 28, 2006--Family Fun Night, one of the highlight events at the Kansas City Chiefs Summer Training Camp, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5 at the Ramer Field Sports Complex at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Sponsored by Viking Coca Cola of River Falls, this fun-filled event will feature everything from food and beverages to face painting, games and music.
The popular Chiefs Experience will be back this year. An obstacle course, a precision course, as well as a field goal chip shot and catching stations will all be part of the fun. Participants will receive a report card rating their performance.
Skydivers from the Indianhead Sport Parachute Club will make an exciting grand entrance as they descend onto Ramer Field at about 5:20 p.m.
At about 5:45 p.m., Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, UW-RF Chancellor Don Betz, Chiefs President Carl Peterson and Coach Herm Edwards will address the crowd.
Fans will also have an opportunity to get autographs and take pictures of their favorite players and coaches. The autograph session will be from 6:30 to 6:50 p.m. on the main Ramer practice field. Fans will then be able to watch the Chiefs offensive and defensive units practice from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
At the end of practice Coach Edwards will award trophies to the winners of the Punt, Pass & Kick competition held on July 29.
A fireworks show, provided by Rolf Halverson Fireworks, will top off the evening.
Family Fun Night is a special way for the Kansas City Chiefs organization to say "thank you" to fans, the community and UW-River Falls for the support and help given while they make the campus their summer three-week home.
Gates open at 4 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults and free to those under 18. For more information visit www.uwrf.edu/chiefs or call 1-800-4KCC-KCC.
