Osseo Student Receives UW-RF Service Award
JUNE 16, 2006--Sarah Ressel, a junior majoring in elementary education from Osseo, is the first recipient of the Robert G. Sievert Student Service Award from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
The award was established in honor of Bob Sievert of New Richmond, who served as director of university centers for a number of years until his retirement in 2005. The new annual award is given to one student who goes above and beyond, exemplifying good customer service.
"Sarah's nomination stood out from the others because of the variety of tasks Sarah has done in the Student Center and because they are always done at the highest level," said Michael Stifter, director of student life facilities. "Her attitude and work ethic are exemplary.
A plaque noting the recipients names will hang in the Robert G. Sievert Fireplace Lounge on the mail level of the new student center being constructed on campus, set to open in January 2007.
Sievert is a UW-RF alumnus who served the campus for 31 years as an administrator. He returned to campus in 1970 after serving in Vietnam and finished his bachelor's degree. In 1988 he earned his M.S.E. from UW-RF. In retirement, Sievert is an executive pastor at Faith Community Church in New Richmond.
