UW-RF Offers Residential Design Class

JUNE 9, 2006--Residential subdivisions are changing the face of the region. Gain an understanding about historical land use patterns, the development forces shaping built environments, and the tools available for managing growth in a class offered by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls this summer.

"Residential Design Options," offered June 22-28, is a practical course combining workshop activities and site visits to compare and contrast the typical subdivisions with newer development options.

Participants will gain an appreciation of the aesthetic, economic, social, and environmental qualities of various residential development approaches and an understanding of the variety of development options available today.

The class will meet weekdays and one Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is geared to students, professionals and interested members of the public. Noncredit participants will pay $280 for the class. Students who want undergraduate credit will pay applicable tuition and campus fees.

The UW-River Falls Outreach and Graduate Studies Office provides lifelong learners with academic, professional development and enrichment programs that are practical, flexible, convenient and affordable. A complete list of courses, course descriptions and online registration information is available at http:/ or can be obtained by calling at 715-425-3256, 1-800-228-5607 or e-mailing .
