Community Band Seeks Musicians
MAY 19, 2006--The St. Croix Valley Community Band at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls seeks volunteer musicians of all ages and abilities for its summer season. Rehearsals begin June 13 and run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. in Room 129 of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building.
Founded in 1982 by director and UW-River Falls music Professor Kristin Tjornehoj, the St. Croix Valley Community Band has attracted many local musicians over the years. The band performs free summer concerts in River Falls, Hudson and Glenwood City.
The summer concert line-up includes: SCVCB with the 132 nd Army Band of Wisconsin, June 29 at 7 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall, Kleinpell Fine Arts Building, UW-River Falls; July 25, 7 p.m. at Wall Amphitheatre, UW-River Falls; July 26, 7 p.m., Peterson's Valley View Farm, Glenwood City; and July 27, 7 p.m. at the Hudson Band Shell.
