Summer Advertising/Public Relations Course Offered
MAY 5, 2006--A course that will provide hands-on experience in several
marketing communications tactics will be offered this summer through the
University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
“Marketing Communications 389: Implementation Strategies”
will afford those working in or aspiring to work in the fields of public
relations or advertising with the background and knowledge in key skills
such as conducting research, event planning, media buying and proposal
writing.
Designed as a capstone course for students in the university’s marketing
communications major, the course is open to general public participants
who have some background in the field. The course meets Monday through
Friday, from 1:15 to 4:30 p.m., July 5-21 in Room 320, North Hall.
Tuition and fees are $650 for Wisconsin residents and $710 for Minnesota

The class will be taught by Tracy O’Connell, assistant professor
in the marketing communications program.
Prior to joining UW-RF in 2004, she managed for-profit and not-for-profit
advertising, public relations and marketing communications in Wisconsin
and California for nearly 30 years.
