Seminar Explores Gene Mutation
MARCH 31, 2006--A presentation on predicting genetic mutation, sponsored
by the University of Wisconsin – River Falls Center for Economic
Research, is April 21 at 3:15 p.m. in room 321 South Hall.
The event is free and open to the public.
Anthony Varghese, a faculty member in computer science and information
systems, will present "Mathematical Modeling of Atrial Fibrillation
due to a Gene Mutation."
The presentation examines what Australian researchers found in dealing
with a gene mutation that predisposes members of a family to life-threatening
atrial fibrillation events. Varghese will show a computer simulation of
the normal and mutated protein to illustrate what it does.
There will be a social and refreshment time from 3-3:15 in room 317 of
South Hall.
