Gospel Choir to Perform
FEB 10, 2006--The Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir is set to light up the stage as part of the Wyman Series at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. in the Abbott Concert Hall of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building.
Singers of different ages, ethnic groups and backgrounds combine to celebrate the music and spirituality of African-American religious music.
The choir has brought audiences to their feet at churches, schools, prisons, conferences and festivals. Their music ranges from inspirational spirituals to rocking contemporary gospel tunes. The Gospel Choir strives to share the "good news" of gospel music with diverse audiences, leaving them energized, hopeful and filled with spirit.
The UW-RF Performing Arts Committee as well as the Diversity Awareness committee, both part of the UW-RF Student Leadership Development and Programming Board, sponsor the Wyman Series. Funding for the series is provided by student fees, which are ultimately allocated to various student organizations and committees.
Cost is free for students, $3 for age 18 and under and $5 for the public. For more information contact the UW-RF student leadership center at 715-425-4911 or visit http://www.uwrf.edu/leadership/welcome.html . For more information about the Gospel Choir, visit www.tccgospel.org
