UW-RF Home > University Communications Home > This Month's News Releases University CommunicationsSTUDENT READING SET DEC. 9DEC. 2, 2005--Readings by University of Wisconsin-River Falls student writers and authors are scheduled for fall semester through the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Reading Series. The third reading is scheduled for Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m. in the breezeway of the Chalmer Davee Library. Admission is free. The series is an opportunity for all UW-RF students to read original poetry, short fiction and creative nonfiction to fellow students, faculty, staff and community members. Guest poets and writers are also invited to read once a semester. Readings are open to the community. An open mike follows the student readings, allowing others to read or discuss works. The reading series is currently organized by students. All advertising, promotion and announcements are created and sent out by students. English Professor Jenny Brantley advises the group. On Feb. 23, 2006, award winner and the author of many novels including "Blood Hollow" and "Iron Lake," William Kent Krueger, will be visiting.
