STUDENT RECEIVES MQHA SCHOLARSHIP

NOV. 22, 2005--Nicolette Eklund, a freshman from Isanti, Minn., was the recipient of the 2005 Minnesota Quarter Horse Association (MQHA) Scholarship.

The MQHA scholarships are awarded to members who have completed high school, demonstrate leadership, maintain high academic achievement, and have shown a commitment to the American Quarter Horse and the equine industry

Eklund, an equine science and pre-medicine major, has been a member of the Isanti County 4-H Horse Project, Mid-State North Star Saddle Club, American Quarter Horse Association and Minnesota Quarter Horse Association. She is also currently serving as vice-president of the Minnesota Quarter Horse Youth Association.
