SUPERVISORY MANAGEMENT CLASS OFFERED

NOV. 4, 2005--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls College of Business and Economics and outreach office is now offering a noncredit Supervisory Management Program as a professional development opportunity for frontline managers, team leaders, new supervisors and individuals wanting to move into a management role.

Workshops are offered once a month, and the next workshop is Dec. 1-2 featuring four, four-hour courses. Courses include:

Thursday, Dec. 1:

-Knowing the Law from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

-Workplace Ethics from 1 to 5 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 2:

-Working Through Conflict from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

-Hiring for Best Fit from 1 to 5 p.m.

         Participants receive practical instruction and useful tools to immediately apply in their work place. To earn the Supervisory Management certificate, participants take six core courses and six elective courses. Classes may also be taken for professional development. Members of the Society of Human Resources (SHRM®) may use these courses to receive continuing education units.

Each individual four-hour class is $99; discounts are available if registering for more than one class; or $356 for all four courses during the two-day workshop. The workshop is held in Room 129 of the Regional Development Institute building on campus.
