UW-RF WELCOMES FAMILIES TO CAMPUS
OCT. 21, 2005--Families have the opportunity to visit their son’s or daughter’s "home" for the next year at the annual Family Day on Nov. 4-5.
Early registration is from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 4 in the Hagestad Student Center. Families can attend the University Theatre production of "Rocky Horror Picture Show," which starts at 7:30 p.m. For ticket information contact the box office at 1-800-228-5423. The production will run Friday and Saturday. There will also be a Women's hockey game at 7 p.m. Nov. 4; tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for grades 6-12, and free for UW-RF students with an ID.
On Saturday, the day begins at 8 a.m. with registration through noon in the student center. At 9:15 a.m. and 10 a.m. participants can take a tour of new facilities including the South Fork Suites and view construction progress on the new student center. Family can also participate in the Turkey Trot 5K Run/1 Mile Walk (www.uwrf.edu/hhp). Following the tour, there will be an "indoor tailgating" lunch at 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., held at the Falcon's Nest, on the main level of the student center. The Falcon football game vs. UW- La Crosse is at 1p.m. at Ramer Field. There will also be other athletic events taking place throughout the day, including Women's hockey vs. Augsburg College at 7 p.m. in Hunt Arena.
Family Day will end with a performance by Comedian Tracey Ashley at Brandy's in the Hagestad Student Center at 8 p.m.
