Summer China Trip Highlighted

SEPT. 9, 2005--University of Wisconsin-River Falls faculty will join Wong How Man, the founder and director of the China Exploration and Research Society, in a presentation highlighting one of the most culturally, geographically and geologically rich areas of the world--the Yunnan Province in China--on Sept. 27 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the River Room of Rodli Commons.

The free presentation is open to the public. Wong How Man, recipient of the 2002 UW-RF Distinguished Alumnus Award and photographer for the National Geographic Society, will talk about the opportunities for faculty, staff and students with CERS.

UW-RF faculty will share their summer experiences at the invitation of CERS to investigate internship and cultural exchange opportunities. The faculty group included Kelly Cain, plant and earth sciences; Pat Hanson, speech communication and theatre arts; Lynn Jermal, art; Brad Mogen, biology; Tracy O'Connell, journalism/marketing communications; and Brent Greene, international programs.

Photos, art and artifacts from the trip will be displayed in the Gallery 101 Showcases in the Fine Arts Lobby (outside the William Abbott Concert Hall) from Sept. 24 - Oct. 8.
