St. Croix Valley Band Offers Free Concerts
The first concert is part of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 2005 Concert Series and is on Tuesday, July 19, at 7 p.m. in the Melvin Wall Amphitheatre on campus. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building, 420 Cascade Ave., River Falls.
A second concert is 7 p.m., Thursday, July 21 at the Hudson Band Shell, located one block west of Main Street in Hudson on the riverfront. Rain site for this concert is the Phipps Center for the Arts, 109 Locust Street (across from the Band Shell).
A final concert for the summer is scheduled for Peterson's Valley View Farm in Glenwood City at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27. The farm is located at 3148 150 th Ave., one mile north of Glenwood City on County Road X and east on 150 th Ave. Audience members should bring their own lawn chairs; rain site is a tent on the grounds.
A musical adventure for all ages, the concerts features more than 50 local musicians from the St. Croix Valley; the band is now in its 23rd year. UW-RF associate Professor of music Kristen Tjornehoj directs the band.
