St. Croix Band Community Sets Concerts
MAY 26, 2005--Guest conductors, terrific music, and great community settings
make up the summer concert lineup for the St. Croix Community Band, organized
through the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Members are being sought for this community ensemble, now in its 20th
year, said Conductor and associate Professor of music Kristin Tjornehoj.
There is no need to sign-up in advance; musicians of all types are encouraged
to attend the first rehearsal from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, June 21 in Room
129 of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building on campus.
Rehearsals continue through the summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays from
7 to 9 p.m. except for performance dates. Summer performances, which are
free and open to the public, have been set:
• Tuesday, July 19, 7 p.m., UW-RF Amphitheatre. River Falls. Rain
site is the Abbott Concert Hall, Kleinpell Fine Arts Building, UW-RF.
• Thursday, July 21, 7 p.m. Bandshell in Lakefront Park, Hudson.
Rain site is the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson.
• Wednesday, July 27, 7 p.m. Peterson's Valley View Farm, Glenwood
City. Rain site: Tent on grounds.
