Free Concerts in April

MARCH 24, 2005--UW-River Falls offers a variety of music events in April. Concerts will be performed at the William Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building on the UW-RF campus except where noted. All events are free and open to the public. April 5, 8 p.m.—UW-RF Faculty Recital, featuring Rick Gaynor on trombone and James Kurschner on piano.

April 9, 1-8 p.m.—St. Croix Valley Music Teachers Association Honors' Recital. Details available soon.

April 10, 1 p.m.—Concert/Pep Band Concert, directed by UW-RF assistant Professor Thomas Barnett.

April 10, 5 p.m.—St. Croix Valley Youth Orchestra Concert, conducted by UW-RF assistant Professor Kristin Tjornehoj and UW-RF faculty member Randy Sabien.

April 12, 8 p.m.—River Falls Brass, a brass quintet consisting of UW-RF faculty members: Thomas Barnett and Craig Hara on trumpets, Andrew Parks on horn, Rick Gaynor on trombone and Charles Wazanowski on tuba.

April 14, 3 p.m.—Convocation Student Recital, performed by UW-RF music students.

April 17, 3 p.m.–UW-RF Honors' Recital.

April 19, 8 p.m.—Percussion Ensemble, directed by UW-RF faculty member Patti Cudd.

April 21, 8 p.m.—Commissioned Composer Concert, premiering new work by composer Stephen Paulus. "Jubilate" will be performed by the UW-RF Concert Choir, conducted by UW-RF assistant Professor J.W. Park.

April 23, 8 p.m.—Jazz at River Falls Concert featuring the UW-RF Jazz Ensembles I and II, directed by UW-RF associate Professor David Milne.

April 24, 3 p.m.— Spring Choral Concert by UW-RF Choral Ensembles, conducted by UW-RF faculty members J.W. Park, Sarah Parks and Paul Schaefer.

April 24, 8 p.m.—New Music Ensemble, directed by UW-RF faculty member Patti Cudd.

April 27, 8 p.m.—Woodwind Ensembles Concert, directed by UW-RF faculty members David Milne, Patrick O'Keefe and Janis Weller.

April 28, 3 p.m.—Convocation Student Recital, performed by UW-RF music students.

April 28, 8 p.m.—Brass Choir Concert, direction of UW-RF faculty member Rick Gaynor.
