MARCH 11, 2005--Some 50 local officials including county board chairs,
mayors, city, town and village presidents as well as planners
and administrators attended an Urban/Rural Transitions Regional Roundtable
on March 7 sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Officials
heard speakers from UW Extension, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metropolitan
Council as well as presenters from UW-La Crosse and the UW-Extension Local
Government Center. Presenters shared growth and development trends affecting
Pierce, St. Croix and Polk counties.
