UW-RF Seniors Display Artwork
MARCH 11, 2005--UW-River Falls will showcase artwork created by graduating
UW-RF senior art students from March 29 - April 7 in Gallery 101 of the
Kleinpell Fine Arts Building. An opening reception is April 1 at 6:30
p.m. in the gallery.
The exhibit will feature glass created by Brian Lagesse, from Fridley,
Minn., and Greg Jacobs, from Cumberland, Wis. Senior art exhibits provide
an opportunity for students to display their final creations to peers,
professors, and the public.
Both students' work is derived from personal interests in life. Jacobs
work is mainly driven from his fondness for the environment and focuses
on the dynamics of interactions that happen in those environments. Jacobs
is interested in oceanographic reefs and marine plant life, as shown in
more than one of his art works.
Lagesse's work is a duality of classical forms and abstract sculptures.
The incalmo bowls are clean, classical forms, while his sculptural forms
are created to show human dynamics.
Gallery 101 exhibit hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
and from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. For more information,
contact the UW-RF art department at 715/425-3266.
