Seminar Looks at Economic Status of Women
MARCH 4, 2005--The UW-River Falls Center for Economic Research is holding
a seminar focusing on the economic development of women in Latin American
countries on March 11 at 3:15 p.m. in Room 321 of South Hall.
Jackie Brux, professor of economics at UW-River Falls, will present, "Rural
Development and Microenterprise Credit: Strategies that Work for Low Income
Women and their Families in Rural Latin America."
Brux will discuss on how to integrate women into rural development projects
in less developed countries such as Bolivia. To integrate women into the
workforce, Brux will explore concepts like agriculture extension and microenterprise
credit and will outline the research she will conduct this summer in Bolivia.
The seminar is free and open to the public.
