Ska Bands Welcome Back Students

JAN. 21, 2005--Three ska bands will welcome students back to camps in
a Skalentine's Day show at 7 p.m., Jan. 31, in Brandy's at the Hagestad
Student Center on the UW-River Falls campus. Something To Do will open
for Streetlight Manifesto and the Voodoo Glow Skulls during this night
of ska music.
Something To Do formed in Waukesha, Wis., from two bands that simply wanted
"something to do." They have performed in venues throughout
the United States and in Canada. Their first album is titled, "Naked
The six members of Streetlight Manifesto formed from two popular New Jersey
ska bands. In 2002 they signed on with Victory Records and released their
debut album titled, "Everything Goes Numb."
The Voodoo Glow Skulls have been together for 16 years. During this time
they have released seven albums, sold one million records, and performed
in locations around the world. They reach a large audience by singing
in both Spanish and English, which has been a trademark for the band since
The Skalentine's Day performance is presented by the UW-RF Entertainment
Committee. Admission is $3 for UW-RF students and $8 for non-students.
