Center for Economic Research Seminar Date Change
NOV. 12, 2004--The UW-River Falls Center for Economic Research
is holding a free seminar examining the effect of the freshman seminar
course on Nov. 19 (originally scheduled for Nov. 12) at 3:15 p.m. in Room
321 of South Hall. The course introduces students to the majors and minors
in the College of Business and Economics and explores careers in business
and related fields.
Brian Schultz and Glenn Potts, both economics professors, will present,
"The Academic Effect of the Freshman Seminar after Eight Semesters."
The research presentation looks at approximately 350 students enrolled
at the University in the fall of 2000 and the possible effect of participation
in the seminar course on the student's final grade point average at the
time of graduation.
The seminar is free and open to the public. The presentation will be preceded
by refreshments at 3 p.m. in Room 317 of South Hall.
