UW-RF Students Showcase Original Research
NOV. 5, 2004--The Society for Undergraduate Research, Scholarly and
Creative Activities at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls hosts the
third annual "Evening Gala" from 7 to 9 p.m., Nov. 11 in the
River Room of Rodli Commons.
The free, public event showcases traditional scientific research, computer
science projects, physical arts and artistic presentations from UW-RF
undergraduate students.
SURSCA was founded by a group of students who attended the National Conference
on Undergraduate Research held in Whitewater, Wis., in spring 2002. Students
found that presenting their research and scholarly and creative activities
at a large prestigious national conference was exhilarating and wanted
to offer similar opportunities to current and future UW-RF students.
The event enhances awareness of the creative spirit that thrives within
UW-RF students. Last year's event presented posters and artwork from 35
presenters to more than 80 attendees.
Students involved in SURSCA activities work together to raise awareness
on the critical aspect of applying new knowledge in the pursuit of scholarship
and allowing the creative process to help students reach their dreams.
