Unit 12 - Multiple - Use

Objectives:

At the end of this unit, students will be able to:

1. Define multiple-use forestry/management.
2. List a variety of uses attainable from forest land, and identify those that are potentially
compatible, or conflicting, when managed for simultaneously in the same area.
3. Discuss management techniques associated with enhancing a particular area for: water quality,
wildlife, recreation, and aesthetics, and discuss their compatibility.
4. Discuss how managing for timber production can be compatible with management for water,
wildlife, recreation, and aesthetics.
