Chad Ernst (Jr., Richfield, Minn.) has been named to the NCAA Division III All-Academic cross country team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Ernst, who was named to the 2007 team also, ran in five races for the Falcons in 2008. He set a school record when he ran a 24:56 at the Brooks Invitational hosted by UW-Oshkosh on Oct. 18. He ran a 26:07.3 at the WIAC meet and placed 15th overall. At the NCAA Regional, he ran a 26:07 and placed 58th overall.

The award honors those student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average and must finish in the top 25 percent of the field at their respective NCAA Regional meet.
