UW-Superior scored two short-handed goals and Heidi Watson scored twice
to lead the Jackets to a 4-0 win over UW-Eau Claire in a NCHA semifinal
playoff game.
After a scoreless first period, UWEC was on a power-play when UWS scored
two short-handed goals. Ashley Jenkins got the first at 4:58 with an assist
to Erin Kegley. Just 38 seconds later Amy Kachinske scored an unassisted
goal. Watson gave UWS a 3-0 lead at 14:09. The goal was unassisted.
Watson scored her sixth goal of the year at 6:03 of the third period.
Gretchen Dahl and Nadine Aubin got the assists.
UWEC goalie Sara Steinhoff made 47 saves while UWS’s Kristy Faechner
stopped all 25 shots she faced.
