UWSP Holds Four Point Lead in NCHA Standings

UW-Stevens Point won two NCHA games last weekend and has opened up a four point lead in first place in the league standings.

UWSP beat second place UW-River Falls, 3-0, on Friday and came back with a 4-2 win on Saturday over third place UW-Superior. The Pointers, 5-0-0 in NCHA play, are still perfect overall with an 8-0-0 record.

UWRF is second in the league standings despite losing twice last weekend. UWRF lost a 4-1 decision at UW-Eau Claire on Saturday. UWRF is 7-4-0 overall and 3-2-0 in league play.

UWS's loss on Saturday was the Jackets' first of the season. On Friday, UWS took a 4-1 win at UWEC. The Jackets are now 5-1-1 overall and third in the NCHA with a 2-1-0 record and four points.

UWEC's win over UWRF was the first time ever that the Blugolds have beaten the Falcons. The win on Saturday gives the Blugolds a 1-1-1 NCHA record and three points. They are in fourth place and are 4-3-1 overall.

Lake Forest (3-4-3) and Finlandia (0-8-0) did not play last weekend. LFC is in fifth place with a 0-3-1 NCHA record while FU is 0-4-0 in league play and in sixth place.

There are only two games left in the month of December on the NCHA schedule. On Dec. 31, Bowdoin is at UWSP and St. Benedict goes to FU. The same teams will play on New Year's Day.
