NCHA Teams Open Strong

The NCHA season opened well for the league teams as they finished 4-3-3 in 10 games against strong non-conference competition.

UW-River Falls finished 2-0 with a 6-2 win at St. Catherine on Friday and a home 7-0 win on Saturday over St. Benedict.

UW-Superior finished 1-0-1. They earned a 5-2 win at St. Benedict on Friday and tied, 2-2, at Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday.

UW-Eau Claire finished 1-1 at St. Olaf. The Blugolds lost on Friday, 3-1, but came back for a 3-1 win on Saturday.

 

Lake Forest finished with two overtime ties at Augsburg. Friday the game ended 4-4 and Saturday's conest finished 3-3.

First year NCHA member, Finlandia, had a great opening weekend despite losing twice at St. Mary's. Both games were very close with St. Mary's winning 2-1 and 4-3 in overtime.

Thirteen games are scheduled this weekend. UW-Stevens Point will open its season with a Saturday-Sunday series at Con.-Moorhead. Another big game comes on Tuesday when UWS hosts St. Thomas.
